Kitesurfing on the Leucate pond

Kitesurfing is a water sport powered by the wind. Enthusiasts use a kite and a board to move on the waters and in the air. This discipline harnesses the power of the wind via a hybrid between a kite and a parachute to propel the surfer. Even though its name seems to come from surfing, kitesurfing doesn't in fact need the waves. Flatwater areas like the Leucate pond in the Aude department are very popular with the professionals and amateurs of freestyle.
