On the Mediterranean coast in the south of France, in the department of Aude, Leucate is a paradise for kite surfing thanks to the strong presence of the tramontana wind. It blows most days of the year and the marin wind, less powerful but more constant, blows the remaining days. The surroundings of Leucate have many diverse kite surfing spots. Fans can choose between the different ponds or the famous spot at ‘La Franqui’ beach where the Mondial du Vent (World Wind Sports Competition), the first stage of the ‘GKA Freestyle World Cup’ is held every year.
