The Kilauea Lighthouse and Wildlife refuge was established in 1985. The ocean cliffs and tall grassy slopes of a dormant volcano provide a protective breeding ground for many Hawaiian seabirds. You can observ the Red footed Booby, the Laysan albatros, the Wedge tailed shearwater among other Kauai wildlife in their natural habitat.
