Key elements of the Camargue race

The attributes (cockade, tassels, and strings) attached to the bulls are removed in a precise order during Camargue races. The cockades and tassels are caught with a hook while the strings come off wear and tear. The multiple turns of strings require several hook strokes, and only a handful of raseteurs succeeded in removing one with a single blow. In addition, a string is only considered fully lifted when it is no longer in contact with the bull's horn. An untied string still attached to the animal is judged incomplete. If the string falls when the bull moves, the raseteur responsible for the last hook stroke is the beneficiary of the attribute.
