Rigid kayak versus inflatable kayak
0
0
If beginners or occasional kayakers often equip themselves with inflatable kayaks, the nautical bases rather offer rigid kayaks (photo) for rental. Often more expensive to buy than inflatable ones, rigid kayaks are heavier and, therefore, more stable and easier to use in white water or in waves. They are also more resistant, hard-wearing, and - unlike inflatable kayaks that demand maintenance (rinsing, drying, folding) after each trip - do not require any precautions for use. On the other hand, their transport is more complicated and necessitates a trailer or a gallery.
