In Inuit society, rules and rituals must be observed to guarantee the future, especially in hunting practices: hunters have always considered that animals offered themselves to humans provided they were respectful. The polar bear is not a randomly chosen artistic object: this predator hunts the same prey as Inuk men which implies rivalry and competition relations.
