The transparent and sheltered waters of Jinek Bay, in the northwest of Lifou Island, have been converted into a natural aquarium with an underwater path for snorkeling. Tropical fish such as blue parrots, Moorish idols... and sometimes even a manta ray can be observed there in less than 9.8ft (3m) of water. The access is via steps descending into the water from a platform mounted on corals.
