The young buffalo can weigh up to 110lbs (50kg) at birth. It is breastfed for 5 to 6 months but its mother accustoms it to graze as early as 2 months. Little by little he becomes independent playing and prancing with other buffaloes. Between 1 and 2 years old, only young males leave their mother and gather with other young bulls.
