“I have ceased to desire myself elsewhere” – André Breton
0
0
During the 20th century, the medieval village Saint-Cirq-Lapopie attracts numerous artists. Among them the French poet and writer André Breton, the American painter, photographer, and director Man Ray or Max Ernst, German painter and sculptor. Several cultural locations still give the village a particular aura these days, like the Maisons Daura(artistic residency), the little Safran museum, etc. In the words of André Breton, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie casts on its visitors the only enchantment, (…) I have ceased to desire myself elsewhere”.
