The jaguar lives from 12 to 15 years old, wandering alone in the dense and wet forests of Central and South America. Like other felines, this great predator is a territorial animal, using scrape marks, urine, and feces. It also can roar to advertise other males of its presence and the echo of its powerful deep grunts crosses the thick vegetation.
