Jaguars live in diverse habitats such as tropical forests, swamp areas, pampas grasslands, thorn scrub woodland, and dry deciduous forests. They always roam near the water points so they are found in greater numbers in tropical rainforests. This characteristic brings them in conflict with the expansion of intensive agriculture in these areas, having the same requirements of nearby to water for irrigation or for livestock grazing.
