In Carolles, a woman has decided to change our point of view on the Cotentin donkey (Equus asinus), a Norman heritage breed. At the Domaine d’Esthine, Brigitte Pieau raises around twenty of them with pure respect, combining love and gentleness. Her donkeys are kind to everyone, and children love them: “They are not stubborn if you don't mistreat them and they love to serve humans”. Today, they no longer carry jugs of cow's milk, but hike on small paths: a nice way to discover the Normandy bocage with the quiet steps of this affectionate animal.
