Islands named after their shapes

The 365 islets of the Norman archipelago of Chausey, the largest in Europe, are known as Huguenans. The 52 islands that emerge at high tide bear names whose origins remain undecided and are often based on their shapes. The archipelago hence comprises islands known as the millstone, bird island, the sign, flat island, long island, the big horse, the breech, etc. Among the islets uncovered at low tide, some are also named according to their appearances, like Éléphant, Tortue, or Moines.
