The term ‘heterochromia’ refers to a difference in color which can appear in the iris of the eye but also in the color of the skin or hair. Complete iris heterochromia, or iridium heterochromia, is characterized by a total difference in the color of the two irises, for example with a blue eye and a brown eye like in this dog. In common language, this genetic deficiency is called ‘odd eyes’.
