Arctic regions are sparsely populated and mainly inhabited by Inuit communities. Traditionally nomadic, they moved across the tundra and the sea ice according to the seasons, following the migration routes of mammals, their first source of food. Nowadays settled in wooden houses in coastal villages, they continue to practice their hunting and fishing traditions.
