Inuit tents and traditional dwellings

This expedition tent is reminiscent of the traditional Inuit dwellings. They namely used tents covered with skins from the first rains until early winter when the thickness of the snow made it possible to build igloos again. They had several types of tents : 'tupiq' covered with seal skins against the rain, larger conical tents covered with caribou skins and small tents called 'nuirtaq' used as temporary shelters for children.
