Inuit are an aboriginal people; they primarily inhabit the northern region of Canada including the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Their language is Inuktitut whose word “inuit” means the people. In Canada, Inuktitut has five main dialects: in Ulukhaktok, one of the only two villages of Victoria Island, inhabitants speak Inuinnaqtun and English.
