On the Main Altar, there is a beautiful sculpture of Nossa Senhora do Sameiro, blessed by Pope Pius IX, the work of the sculptor Eugénio Maccagnani, who arrived in the city of Braga at the end of the 19th century. Inside, the "golden rose" offered by S. John Paul II, on December 8, 2004, after his visit to the Sanctuary in 1982, is also on display.
