Yport, a small seaside resort near Étretat, is the only town on the Normandy coast to keep its sea cabins in winter. 24 of them line the pebble beach filled with fishing boats, close to high cliffs. Their pointed white and blue roofs are an integral part of the landscape. However, the town hall will have to dismantle them in winter as the 2006 Coastal Law obliges coastal towns to do so. The sea cabins of Yport have been present since an imperial decree signed by Napoleon III in 1868.
