Inside the rich Woëvre plain

Madine Lake opens onto the Woëvre plain. From there, the front of the Côtes de Meuse (1,486 ft / 453 m) fills the horizon line. The plain is home to numerous orchards, including the mirabelle plum trees that make the reputation of Lorraine. Its microclimate is also particularly conducive to the cultivation of vines. The Côtes de Meuse wines were classified in 1982 in the Vins de Pays (Country wine) category.
