On the edge of the Jardin d’Acclimatation, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, the Louis Vuitton Foundation is set in a natural environment, between wood and garden. The building designed by architect Franck Gehry was conceived in osmosis with the surrounding nature, and the hundred-year-old oak trees of the Jardin d’Acclimatation are reflected in the glass surfaces. For the occasion, this area of the garden was even redesigned and replanted with trees. Underneath the glass walls, the framework and the fibre-reinforced concrete blocks form the body of the building without any right angles, according to the precepts of the American architect.
