Templates are wooden or metal forms fixed in the center of the brain of the bell which determine, by swiveling, the model of the future bell. Its thickness, height, and weight fix its final note. The Fonderie Cornille-Havard was the first to innovate by using computer-aided design to create bell profiles. The templates are now laser-cut, and the final sound is checked by a spectrum analyzer.
