Inflorescence of the Delphinium ajacis
Delphinium ajacis is a sturdy annual ornamental plant with erect branches of the Ranunculaceae family. Its summer inflorescence is made up of five blue petaloid sepals and two central, spiked, paler petals fused together and carrying nectaries. It grows naturally in the south of France as a harvest weed, in wasteland, along paths and gardens.
