The carving of a relief pattern requires many steps, from the tracing that reproduces with a pencil the pattern on the piece of wood to the cutting through the ripping that allows to remove the maximum of wood around the pattern with the help of hollow gouges. The cutting begins with a tilted tap towards the outside of the drawing not to alter the structure of the pattern.
