In winter and summer alike

The slopes of the Monts Dore are accessible in winter and summer alike. In Nordic skiing or by foot, many itineraries allow discovering unique fauna and flora. Hikers can come across mouflons, marmots, chamois, and birds of prey. From March to October, the mountain flora invades the slopes with its white and water buttercups, while knotweed and Scabious plants add pink notes and are followed by gentians and yellow daffodils. The Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne (Auvergne Volcanic Park) displays 60% high altitude meadows and lawns and 30% forests.
