In the ponds and lagoons of southern Camargue

If greater flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus) use all the wetlands of Camargue for food, the best observation sites for the species extend in the lagoons and ponds of southern Camargue. The birds thrive in the ponds and drops south of the Salins de Giraud, the Impériaux pond along the seawall, or the Malagroy pond along the Draille de Méjanes. They are also present in the ponds along the departmental road linking Aigues-Mortes and Le Grau-du-Roi, in the northeast of Vaccarès and Fournelet ponds, in Galabert and Fangassier ponds, and finally the ornithological park of Pont de Gaud (photo).
