In the center of the Gorges du Tarn

The medieval village of Sainte-Enimie is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. It is renowned for its old streets paved with Tarn pebbles, its houses typical of the region, and the old monastery from the 6th century. The village's location in the center of the Gorges du Tarn makes it an ideal starting point for hikes or canoe trips on the Tarn River that crosses it. Opposite the Sainte-Enimie bridge is the start of a path leading to the hermitage where the princess who gave the village its name allegedly retired to live as a hermit in a cave. At the end of this path, past the chapel, a small outcrop offers a panorama over Sainte-Enimie and the Gorges du Tarn.
