Impala, an athletic profile
3
0
Impalas have many athletic talents and compete in speed with cheetahs, leap with leopards and endurance with wild dogs and hyenas. For these different predators, they represent a real challenge in terms of agility. As a result, lions prefer to hunt slower and larger preys such as buffaloes rather than exhaust themselves trying to catch impalas of 132lbs (60 kg)). Impalas complicate cheetah hunting by taking refuge in woodlands and running fast around trees and bushes. Predators mainly target weak impala because they are either young, old, sick, injured or pregnant.
