Classified as a protected reserve, the Canard islet is the closest islet to Nouméa. It faces Anse Vata, to which it is linked by a shuttle service every 15 minutes. Beyond its superb view of the bay of Nouméa, it contains an exceptional flora and fauna just a few hundred meters from the capital. Its educational underwater trail, marked with buoys and accessible to all, is full of information on the New Caledonian underwater fauna.
