This aerial view of a small part of the Lifou coastline gives an idea of the local geographic space marked in particular by the omnipresence of the forest which extends to the shore. We also notice the dark color of the sea, already deep a few meters from the edge, and the narrowness of the coral reef which reminds us that there is no lagoon in Lifou. As for the children who play in the water, they are Melanesian like 94% of the population of the Loyalty Islands.
