Unyee Island, Sharks Pass, Ohwen Island

The Sharks Pass, visible in the center of this photo, separates the two northern islands of Ouvéa atoll : Unnyee in the foreground and Ohwen in the background. It is accessible on foot by the white sand beach called Grand Nord beach which borders the west coast of Ohwen and allows an early morning foot crossing to the other side at low tide. It is the place where lemon sharks come to reproduce by mating by three : two males for a female.
