Even though all the archipelagos of French Polynesia have been strongly influenced by the Tahitian dance, 'Ori Tahiti', they have preserved some of their own dances like the 'bird dance' in the Marquesas, the 'kapa' in the Tuamotu, and the 'pe'i' in the Gambier. They thus celebrate the resilience of the Polynesian cultures to maintain the sacred origins of their ways of life and beliefs.
