The Magpie Shrike is common in countries of the southern part of Africa. It is a sparrow of the Laniidae family. Often perched, it is recognizable by its plumage completely black on the whole head and the ventral part and partially white at the wings as well as by its very long and thin black tail that swings in the wind.
