Identification of the common waterbuck

Only the male waterbuck has large ringed horns. His face is marked with white around the nose, mouth, at the throat and above the eyes. Its rounded ears are white on the inside, black on the edges. Two subspecies are recognizable to their hindquarters : a large white ring surrounds the rump of the Ellipsen waterbuck while the Defassa has a white spot.
