El ibis sagrado (Threskiornis aethiopicus) es una especie de ave pelecaniforme de la familia Threskiornithidae propia de puntos de África y Asia.
Posee plumaje blanco en tronco, base de las alas, vientre y cola, y negro en la cabeza y en los extremos de las alas, que en reposo superan el largo de la cola. De costumbres diurnas y gregarias habita en las orillas de los ríos, lagos y aguas estancadas, asociado con otras aves acuáticas de similares hábitos alimenticios como las cigüeñas o los marabúes. Se alimenta principalmente de insectos y lombrices, además de crustáceos y pequeños reptiles, a los que captura con su largo pico curvo.
El ibis sagrado era considerado un animal sagrado para los egipcios. Creían que era un mensajero del dios Tot.
