In cheetahs, hunting usually lasts less than a minute. It overthrows its prey by hitting it on the hips or pulls it to the ground, clinging to its flanks with the sharp spur of its foreleg. It then seizes its victim by the throat until it suffocates. Cheetahs select the richest and most energetic parts, the muscles, and abandon viscera and skin.
