How to tame a cicada
0
0
A tree on which a cicada is singing usually turns silent quickly as someone approaches. However, when confronted with a loud, high-pitched whistle attempting to mimic and dominate its song, it may descend along the trunk and get close to the whistler. Both attracted and fascinated by the harmony of a whistle in the same tone and tuned with its own, the cicada sometimes even climbs on top of the whistler and freezes while continuing to sing.
