The Hosiery Museum is dedicated to the most emblematic activity of Troyes, renowned as the knitting city of Europe. Wooden looms and sophisticated machinery from the Golden Age of the 19th and 20th centuries are displayed there. A hosiery festival also takes place every year. The occasion of 1909 remained famous for its large cavalcade of 1,200 extras, 19 chariots, and 300 horses. A queen was also elected, whose gloves and fan are on display.
