Cap des Mèdes extends at the northern end of the island of Porquerolles in the Hyères Islands archipelago. It is extended by two large partially submerged rocks called the Rochers des Mèdes ou des Deux Frères. The cape closes the relatively low north coast of the island, which forms the harbor of Porquerolles and is home to the marina and the three main beaches of Argent, Courtade, and Notre-Dame. It is possible to dock there in calms seas, but anchoring is prohibited in an entire area near the western flank of the cape occupied by a large block of masonry.
