Hitch line
The hitch line of a dog team is either an hollow rope or a hard-wired, plastic-coated line which resist the dog bites. It is linked to the sled by a shock absorber which reduces the stopping or starting shocks for the dogs. It consists of a central line as well as necklines attached - by snaps - to the collars of the dogs and tuglines (tail lines) attached to their harnesses, at the level of the tail.
