Helping weak hatchling

Thanks to the authorization and support of the Direction de l'Environnement Polynésie Française, during the nesting season, Te mana o te moana regularly welcomes baby green turtles who are too weak to reach the lagoon upon nest exit. The hatchlings are fed and monitored to ensure appropriate growth and weight gain. Medical care is also provided when necessary (disinfection of wounds in particular). With just over 100g at 2 months of age, these green turtles will reach their reproduction age in about 20 years. A long, perilous path. It is estimated that 1 in 1,000 hatchlings will reach breeding age.
