The Heller's barracuda (Sphyraena helleri) is recognizable by the 2 narrow golden bands running through its silver-gray fusiform body over its entire length, from the back of the operculum to the caudal peduncle. It lives in very dense schools in areas exposed to a slight current (passes, shoals, reef points). The pointed head of this hunter has a prominent lower jaw and a weakly protractile upper jaw.
