In French Polynesia, humpback whales have made their way back to Antarctica. Some females leave with a calf between 4 and 5 months old. After several months without feeding, they will find in the cold waters of the south all the food resources they need. During this long migration of about 7,000 km, they will also need to protect themselves from predators. To avoid any disturbance to the species during its journey, the Mata Tohora association invites observers to respect the essential rules of approach when observing.
