Hautvillers Tourist Office

Located on the Place de la République, the Hautvillers Intercommunal Tourist Office provides information on the entire region. A few kilometres from Epernay, Hautvillers overlooks the loops of the Marne. The village is surrounded by the Champagne vineyards to the south and east. It is home to the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Pierre, which is steeped in history. At the end of the 17th century, the monk Dom Pierre Pérignon discovered the method of ‘champagnisation’ of wine. More than a hundred wrought iron signs decorate the facades of many of the village’s houses, as they did in the Middle Ages.
