Hand made javelins

0
The javelin throwers of 'patia fa' competitions make their own javelins. They use different types of wood such as purau, kahaia, aute or miro for the javelin handle. The metal tip is a 0.23 or 0.31in (6 or 8mm) diameter concrete iron or rifle spear, attached to the javelin by means of an iron or nylon wire or a tube-like rubber lanyard.
