Hallstatt

It does look this tiny village comes straight out of a fairy tale! Hallstatt is famous for its salt. People already started mining salt in the mountain towering the village about 7,000 years ago. Until 1890 it was only accessible by boat or narrow trail as the village is built on a small strip of land agains the steep mountain. Did you know that there is a copy cat of the entire village in China? And that is served as inspiration for the Disney movie Frozen? It does look like a fairy tale after all!
