Growing and diverse olive groves

Since 1997, Anthony and Carole Bamford have developed a Mediterranean olive grove on their Château Léoube estate in Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var department. They selected twenty-five varieties of Italian (Pendolino, Frantoïo), Provencal (Olivette, Aglandau, Bouteillan, Picholine, Cayon), and endangered (Brun, Callian) olives. The cultivation of olive trees on the estate of Château Léoube hence increased from 3.70 to 57 acres (1.5 to 23 ha).
