The gray cicada (Cicada orni) can mainly be encountered in environments with a tall vegetation structure and marked by a significant presence of woody plants. Its most favorable habitats are open enough for light to penetrate and include open woodlands, scrublands, and garrigues. The gray cicada mainly occupies the Mediterranean area, up to 5,249 ft (1,600 m) of altitude. Featured: Gérard Filippi, Entomologist and Nature Expert, Founder of Microland Association
