The greater flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus) fascinates with its color which distinguishes it from all other species. It is present all year round in Camargue, its only nesting territory in France. This gregarious species both migratory, partially migratory and sometimes erratic, is visible in the wild around the 178,000 hectares of ponds and lagoons forming the Camargue region.
