Crystal engraving

0
For an exceptional result, crystal can be engraved with drawings, inscriptions, or tiny details. The Lalique company practices several methods of engraving. Here, the engraver uses a diamond-tipped stylus, which works by rapid rotation. This gesture requires great dexterity and precision. The engraving follows parallel lines in order to obtain different shades of white or dotted lines which give a more delicate rendering. The sandblasting technique is used to frost and engrave the glass at the same time. It is carried out with a compressed air gun that projects a powerful jet of corundum sand onto the glass.
